Air Filter Replacement

 

N.B This how-to was constructed while working on an echo, as a result there is the possibility of differences in some of the photos

Estimated time: 10 minutes 

On this one you'll need: Phillips head driver or 10mm socket, and of course a new air fiter

Pop hood-Locate air box.

Unscrew the clamp till it's loose

Pinch and slide the clip up the PCV inlet line. Pull the line off

Pull the Hose off the box and pull the 2 clips towards you.

Lift the top of the air box up revealing the filter. Pull the old filter out.

This one (left ) has 12k miles. New one (right)

Wipe out the inside of the air box

Lay the new filter in the box with the one squared edge on your right side and closest to you.

Lower the lid and re-clip. Be sure the back of the box top is in it's seat corrreectly

Put the hose back on and reconnect the PCV inlet.

Tighten the clamp
