Airbox Removal

 

Remove the engine cover. It is held on by 4, 10mm nuts.

Remove the PCV inlet hose from the valve cover.

Unplug the connector of the MAF sensor.

Unscrew and remove the MAF sensor. Be sure to get the O-ring.

Loosen the clamps on both ends of the rubber intake pipe and remove it.

Use a flat head screw driver to bend the metal tab of the VSV that holds it to the top of the air box and remove it from the box.

There is a plastic tie holding the wires to the maf connector. This needs to be cut and removed to give slack to reach the new mounting point.

Unclip the top of the air box

Remove the top of the air box. (The echo will have a small hose attached to the side of the box. Detach it.)

Remove the filter to access the bolts holding the bottom of the air box.

Remove the 3 10mm bolts

Then unbolt the 10mm bolt on the end of the plastic tube of the lower air box.

Then remove the lower part of the air box
