Door Card Re-Trim

Well here is a tiny gudie showing me doing my door cards. I used real leather and added a stitch line for show.

What i used:
Your choice of material which need to be very strecthy ie a leather or vinyl.
Spray glue.
Knife
Some thing Blunt and pointy lol
Wire brush.

First off i needed to get the door card off.

Once door card was off i had this.

Next start by pulling the material way from the door card here.


Then take all the material off.


Next grabbed my wire brush and remove all the foam which has been left behind.



Then this.

Making sure this is total smooth as any bits left will show through on the new material.

Next cut my new material out making sure to cut it a bit biger then the piece removed.


Then spray glue both the material and the card and leave to go tacky for at least 30sec's.


Now put my material on the card and pulled all the fullness out towards the edges.

Once i was happy i trim away the materal around the edge just shy of the tuck in line.

Now i took my blunt pointy thing(i used the back of a butter knife) and tucked the material in the gap around the edge of the card.
Any glue which has got the the plastic i removed by rubbing it or using silcone spray.

Here is the card finished.
