Estimated time: 5 minutes
You'll need:
Philips head screw driver, and a bottle of electronics cleaner
The MAF sensor is located on top of the air filter box towards the throttle body. It can become dirty and not work properly over time (especially if you use a performance intake or oiled filter.)
Press down on the tab of the harness clip and slide it off the MAF
Use the screw driver and unscrew the 2 screws holding the MAF down
Remove the MAF by pulling it up and out of it's hole. Be careful not to damage the O-ring seal on the underside.
Use the electronics cleaner to spray off the temperature sensor (tear drop shaped in pic) you could use a cotton swab to gently wipe it off.
Next spray up at the suspended wires of the air flow sensor. Do not try to wipe these off. Only use air. They are fragile and expensive to replace.
Let the MAF air dry a minute and scrw it back into place.
Use the electronics cleaner on the connecter and hook it back on.
