Estimated time: 30 minutes
Tools / Parts for the job:
- Oil Filter: 90915-TA001
- Socket wrench (opt. 10"extension)
- 14mm socket
- Drain pan
- Oil filter strap
-Jack or ramps
I like to drive my car first to get the oil hot so it runs out nicely. If you do this make sure to use thick gloves when changing oil. A small drive to warm engine slightly would be sufficient enough though.
-Jack up the front passenger side of the car to gain better access to the car's oil pan.

-You'll have to use the 14 mm socket to get the drain plug out. Loosen it slowly and the oil wil start to eak out. Try not to drop it in the drip pan.

-Let all the oil drain out then empty your pan into a container. ( Please take the oil to be recycled, do not dump!)

-Place the drip pan under the filter which is located just in front of the oil pan. Using the proper sized oil filter cap+wrench ( I use an F size) unscrew the filter. Alternatively some may use a filter strap.

-Residual fluid will leak out as you unscrew it, then carefully tip the filter and let it drain into the pan.

- Clean off the surface where the filter sits and make sure there isn't any old gasket or crud stuck on it.

- Put a small amount of oil on the new oil filter Place your new filter on by hand and screw it on hand tight. Make sure you don't cross thread. Use the wrench to turn it 1/4 - 1/2 turn after it's hand tight.
-Put a new sump plug washer on your drain plug and re-install it into the pan. torque it pretty good. about 25 ft lbs.

-Lower your car if it was jacked up and add 3 quarts into the filler hole. wiat a few minutes (Start cleaning up) then re-check the level on the dipstick and fill if needed.

-Put you filler cap back on and monitor your car for leaks and oil level.
