Serviceing My Yaris, What Parts??

Recommended Posts

Hiya everyone,

Recently brought my Yaris 1.3 16v vvti MK1 2000 last week, my dad is going to do a good service on it as the book hasnt been stamped very well, and toyota couldnt see on there records when its been done. Everything is running smoothly and it drives well. Da was looking at changing sparks, oil and air filter etc. Do u know which parts are the best to get?
Thanks

Standard NKG spark plugs are good enough. Oil filter (standard toyota part), panel air filter (standard toyota part - you can get more expensive ones like HKS but you wont notice any difference really), pollen filter (toyota standard will do) engine oil (get decent stuff like Castrol)

Toyota sell service packs which I always use.

They include

5lt 5w-30 or 10w-40 Oil
Oil filter
Sump plug washer
Pollen filter
Spark plugs

Around £50 and all genuine Toyota stuff, I normally get Toyota Red Coolant and wiper blades at a discounted price at the same time.

Not particularly if you have the tools.

You'll need jack, axle stands and suitable container to catch the oil, I forget the size sockets though.
Don't recall spark plug nut size either, but that's pretty straightforward too, just be gentle.
And pollen filter is hidden behind the glovebox which comes out easily enough
